Attention...Mind the Gap!

Attention...mind the gap!
Attention...mind the gap!
Attention...mind the gap!

If anyone falls through that damn cable car gap after hearing a hundred+ warnings....they pretty much deserve the fall of a lifetime!  And take your stupid selfie stick with you!!!  So begins our excursion today at Sugar Loaf Mountain.

Its peak is situated at the mouth of Guanabara Bay on a peninsula that sticks out into the Atlantic Ocean. Rising 1300 ft above the harbor, its name is said to refer to its resemblance to the traditional shape of concentrated refined loaf sugar. It is known worldwide for its cableway and panoramic views of the city.

A glass-walled cablecar, capable of holding 65 passengers, runs along a 1400-meter route between the peaks of Pão de Açúcar and Morro da Urca every 20 minutes.  It is actually one of the fastest cablecars we've ever been on.  We got to the top in a hurry!  Attention...mind the gap!  Attention...mind the gap!  Attention...mind the gap!

By now most of you know that I hate cell phones more than anything else in this world.  Well....I now hate something even more than cell phones.  Cell phones on a stick!  Holy crap!  They're everywhere!  These selfie-sticks are absolutely maddening!  If people would just use a little creativity and imagination to take a picture....they wouldn't have to go poking the rest of us with their selfie sticks!  Jenesa and I have proven that a creative selfie can be taken....without a stick!  Let's just "reflect" a little before leaving Sugar Loaf Mountain....and mind the gap!
