Wet Feet In Argentina

Today was the first day of bad weather on this trip.  We were scheduled to cross the Argentina border and see the Falls from the opposite side.  We came prepared with rain jackets....but they didn't help much!

Looking at the picture above, it's pretty obvious we were getting wet one way or another on this trip.  The Falls create so much moisture and mist around the observation decks that it's almost impossible to stay dry - rain or no rain!

The Argentina side encompasses a much larger portion of Iguazu Falls than the Brazil side (at least from an area standpoint).  We spent a lot of time hiking the catwalks (5 miles) and riding the Eco Train to get from one spot to the next.  Flooding closed many of the paths in June 2014, but they are now reopened.  And, beware for critters along the way!

Niagara Falls has the Maid of the Mist (a relatively dry boat ride out to the falls).  Iguazu Falls has something similar (but staying dry is NOT optional).  We were warned these boating adventures would totally soak us regardless of what weatherproof clothing we wore.  The boat ride takes you through the canyon to the San Martin waterfall which is the largest waterfall any motor-boat can approach safely.  Neither day we visited the Falls was ideal to catch a boat ride under the Falls (lack of time and/or weather).  So I've linked a video of the experience below....no rain gear required to watch it!
